LITTLE MY’S FIFTH IS OUT TOMORROW!

Wednesday, December 14th, 2011

We’ve had our Christmas elves putting orders together all afternoon, so if you have pre-ordered a copy of Little My’s fifth, expect something in your mailbox very, very soon.

While you wait, here’s a short interview with Harri Davidson, Little My‘s lead singer and songwriter:

When did Little My start?

I wrote my first song ‘Moths’ quite a while before I played it to anyone. But it was late on in 2005 when I played it to a couple of close friends who persuaded me to gradually start accruing people to play the songs live the with me. We played our first gig in March 2006 – it was ten minutes long – with about half of that taken up with swapping instruments between songs.

Had the plan always been to make 10 eps and then call it quits?

We wanted to create something that people could collect. A series of EP’s with an order and finite number that you could seek out and collect the set – like the sticker albums we had when we were little! Having each Little My song begin with a different letter fitted well, and when you get to Z that’s it! All neat and tidy. The cover versions and Christmas songs belong to new alphabet sets which will hopefully one day be released as albums too.

We stopped playing live in March 2010, 4 years to the day after our first ever gig when the Tenth and final EP was released.

So, where did Little My’s Fifth come from?

Little My’s Fifth is a present we have been saving, like when you find a tenner in and old winter coat pocket from the year before. It is a little reminder that the album (with all the songs A to Z) will be along eventually… and it proves that there is life after death!

Can you tell us some other fun or interesting facts about Little My?

The largest number of people playing in the band at a gig was 21 ( and it was broadcast live on radio on my birthday! ).
We played 55 gigs in total.
We had to buy a minibus (Serge) just to get to the practice room every week!

What are the Little Mys doing these days?

Me, Rich and Steph are still playing in The School – our new album comes out in March! Graf is still playing with Gindrinker and also Last Partisan and The Threatmantics. Amongst other things we have been finishing PhDs, Masters’ s and having babies!

Little My’s Fifth will be out tomorrow, and be ordered directly from our release page. Every order comes with a free mp3 download for a brand new Little My Christmas song. Woot!

Breaking News!

Sunday, December 4th, 2011

Yikes! It’s been quite some time since our last update! But that does not mean nothing had been happening at the weePOP! HQ. We’ve been planning, pressing, cutting and stamping like crazy and have a load of exciting stuff lined up for the next few months.

The first of them, a brand new EP by Little My, is almost ready to go and has just been made available to pre-order.

You might be scratching your head and thinking ‘Hold on! Hadn’t Little My stopped making music sometime last year?’. Yes, they did stop. In March 2010, exactly four years after their first show, they released Little My’s Tenth and played their last ever gig. On their newsletter they explained that since the very early days, the plan had been to release 10 EPs and to write each song beginning with a different letter of the alphabet.

Now, particularly perceptive fans, might have noticed that something is missing there. They did release Little My’s Tenth on same night of their last show, but, somehow that wasn’t their tenth EP. Little My’s fifth had been missing all along. But not anymore.

Little My’s Fifth will be out on December 15th and is available to pre-order NOW.

Like most things weePOP!, it’s limited to 160 hand assembled and numbered copies. 40 of those are packaged in an elaborate, extra-special way, involving giant (really, really giant) buttons and ribbons. Those are going to the very first orders, so if you’d like one, make sure to order fast.

Aaaand, there’s even an extra bonus – A new Christmas song mp3 download to go with every order.

More from us very soon! xx

Let’s Whisper in the UK and a brand new video

Sunday, September 11th, 2011

Double-exciting Let’s Whisper news!

Firstly, they have just finished a video for ‘All Happy Endings’.  It’s their first official video to come out of The Shortest Days and what could possibly be a more perfect choice of a song than one that goes “let’s make a movie, you and I, take an adventure ‘cross the sky, all happy endings and a new beginning”?

In very subtle ways, it’s full of references to other songs in the album (like a girl playing with an etch-a sketch), and it also shows some clippings from the Record Release Party at an art gallery in Burlington last April, a nice little treat for those of us who couldn’t be there.

Which brings us to the next bit of news we’re so excited about:
